Coming into an Ignite workshop, we often see the following three anxieties emerge: Have I missed an initiative or requirement? Have I over / under estimated the work? Have I got the priority right? This is entirely normal, as we are constructing a “point in time” plan based on what we know that day. We are also instilling the fundamental agile behaviour of “Responding to change, over following a plan” So we will always reassure the Ignite participants that this plan isn’t set in concrete, and there will be ample opportunity to refine the plan as we learn more about the initiatives, the work involved, and the likely value they will deliver. Surely by now, I must sound like a broken record when I say, “Expect the Unexpected” There will be unexpected changes to our plan. That you can guarantee. So one of the key transformational behaviours is to get our teams to not strive for perfection in the plan and be ready for the unexpected change, which is just around the corner. #200Ignites AdaptivOrg + Seisma SEISMA GROUP
