Queen & Freddies Lesser Known Collaborations

As one of Australia's self-proclaimed Queen aficionados (or at least I like to think so), it's time to share another round of Queen facts in the form of some of Queen & Freddie's lesser-known collaborations, and let me tell you, these are epic! 🤩

Obviously the most famous ones are the hits they produced with David Bowie (Under Pressure) and George Michael (Somebody to Love - live at the Freddie Mercurt Tribute Concert), and the touring Queen did post-Freddie with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert.

Here are a few incredible collaborations you might not have heard of:

1) Michael Jackson. In 1983 while touring America, Michael and Freddie recorded three tracks in Michael's home studio: There Must Be More to Life Than This (released in 2014), State of Shock, and Victory (the later two yet to be released). 🎤👑

2) David Bowie. In addition to the hit "Under Pressure", David Bowie features on an unreleased version of "Cool Cat" form the same album "Hot Space". 🕺

3) Rod Stewart. Recorded a version of "Another Piece of my Heart" with Queen in 1995 that was never released. 🎶❌

4) John Armatrading: Aussie singer Joan features on the "Don't Lose Your Head" single from Queen's "A Kind of Magic" album. 🎸

5) John Farnham: Released the song "We Will Rock You" with Queen for the 2003 Rugby World Cup. 🏉

6) Cliff Richard: Freddie sang a live duet with Cliff called "It's in Everyone of Us" and "In My Defence" for the Time Musical in 1988. Of note, this was Freddie's last live appearance. 🎤😢

7) Montserrat Caballe: Freddie and Spanish opera singer Montserrat released the album "Barcelona" in 1988 combining rock and opera, featuring some of Freddie's best ever work. 🎶🎭
