OMG! How cool would it be if we introduced the role of Scrumbag! I could see myself doing that job....
Would it be a full-time job however?
That's the debate raging across the industry
Should a scrum master be full time or not?
Should the role be shared across the team?
Can a scrum master work across multiple teams?
Should the agile coach play the role of the scrum master?
Should we give the role to a junior member of the team as a career development opportunity?
There is no hard yes/no answer to these questions. All are valid scenarios. The answer is "It depends..."
It depends on where the organisation is on its agile journey.
As long as whoever is performing the scrumbag role is hosting the ceremonies, ensuring there is sense of high energy and helps create an environment for the the team to feel valued, empowered and collaborate - then you are off to a good start.
