A goal of an Ignite is to achieve a ranked list of initiatives across an organisation.
Often the leaders of those streams can’t see the reasoning for doing this.
“You are trying to compare apples with oranges”
“The skillsets are completely different!”
“I have a dedicated budget and team for my work!”
What we are trying to do is help them step out of their silos and become true leaders by recognising which work is critical for the greater good of the organisation and that their credibility relies heavily on their success as a leadership team.
Once they recognise that, they can work together as a leadership team to be successful as a collective by ensuring, as a minimum, the most valued work is completed successfully.
That is one of the secrets of successful organisations.
Well, not much of a secret, really.
